We all like to imagine we are good people. But that is not the case.
No amount of acting or good works will get us through the gate of Heaven. Well, you might say, "I'm not that bad, especially compared to same people." All right, let's take a look at what God's standards are. In the Ten Commandments God says, Thou shall not lie; thou shall not commit adultery; and God says in the book of Matthew that lust is as adultery. Thou shall not steal; Thou shall not take the Name of the Lord your God in vain. And that's just four of the ten.

If we are honest, we know we have broken the Ten Commandments. Which makes us guilty! It says in Romans 6:23 "that the wages of sin is death." Our just punishment is eternity in Hell, that should terrify you! But God does not desire for you to perish. (2 Peter 3:9) That's why He sent His son (Jesus) to die on the cross for our sins. But Jesus did not stay dead, He rose again on the third day conquering sin and death. The reason Jesus had to die on the cross was because someone had to pay the price for our sins. Just as in a courtroom a judge can put you in jail if you cannot pay your speeding ticket, but if someone (Jesus) pays it for you the judge can legally let you go. Because someone took your place, that's what Jesus did for us.

Now all you have to do is humble yourself, repent of your sins and believe in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Good works will never get you to Heaven Jesus is the only way. (John 14:6) Please don't put this off, this is the most important decision you will ever make. Don't just take my word for it, search it out and you will found the truth.
